ACTION TAKERS NEWSLETTER BROADCAST Jan 25, 2009

Hello it’s Tak Hikichi here. I appreciate you taking busy time
reading this newsletter this week. It’s been two weeks since
I last sent Sunday broadcast and I thank everyone who has
recently signed up for Action Taker’s.

I’ll be doing some product reviews here today… none contain
my affiliate links.

================
REAL OTO SCRIPT
================

First item on the list today is an interesting OTO script, which
doesn’t cost a dime.

When I say “OTO”, I trust you know what it stands for.. it’s the
One time only offer, which typically is shown as soon as you order
something or you sign up for something. It then asks you to read
every word carefully because you’re only going to see the discounted
price once and you must act now — you know how that goes.

For the most part, internet marketers don’t have scripts sophisticated
enough to make this a true event. In fact, if you bookmark and later
return to the page, you’re more likely see the same page shown with
the same discount offered once.

So it really is not a true OTO.

But this is about to change.

I forgot where I signed up… but David Thomas gave me a script
that pretty much disables anyone to return to the page from the
same computer. In other words, if your customer sees your OTO page
and attempts to returns to the page, they lose the ability to do
this. The script reads IP address and bans anyone from attempting
to access that page – so you must really act on it right then, right
there.

Now you can get this at $0. However, there was an OTO when I signed
up for the free script, but I didn’t buy it. The OTO was limited-time
offer script (this is how David profits by first giving you the
free script as a bait) and I wasn’t interested in it. It may work
for you though.

For this reason, even though this comes with affiliate program, I’m
only sending you the original link from the product owner.

>> David’s OTO script.

Enjoy. I think it’s a good script to own.

============
PPC Web Spy
============

If what I am about to explain to you confuses you, you have to
see the video demonstration offered through the link below.

Brad Callen released a new product that enables you to spy how much
people are spending on Adwords campaigns.

When I first heard about it, I wasn’t happy. I have several Adwords
campaigns making me nice income on autopilot right now. What if
others find out exactly how much and what keyword I am bidding?

All they have to do is to replicate what I do and steal my method.

PPC Web Spy supposesly does this.

It installs script on your FireFox browser (so you must use this
with FireFox, not Internet Explore) and as soon as you Google
and all the keywords and bidding terms are revealed.

Well, that WAS the pitch demonstrated during the video part.

But it didn’t. It generated other key phrases that I am not bidding
on. (So kind of glad that it worked imperfectly)

Now, it has an upgraded version, which reveals all key phrases that I
was bidding on. But since the free version revealed more
key phrases that were RELATED to my campaigns but I wasn’t actually
bidding, I wasn’t all that convinced.

So I didn’t buy the upgraded (Yes, OTO) version of the software, but
I have it installed on my FireFox just to occasionally spy on what
others may be bidding on certain keywords. So in my opinion, it’s
a nice tool to have for free, but not sure if I would pay for the
upgraded version since it didn’t work perfectly during the free
phase.

You might like it though… See it for yourself and decide if it’s for you.

>> http://www.ppcwebspy.com (not my affiliate link)

=============
WARRIOR PDF
=============

Recently, I was creating a PDF report, explaining how to convert
hyperlinks within PDF. My traffic report shows people come to
my site, inquiring about it. So I thought I’d write more
complete step by step style report.

Well, like 90% of everyone out there, I would use Open Office to
convert Word from PDF. But as you might know, this is a two step
process.

Then I forgot that I had bookmarked something and for the first time,
I had it installed on my computer. It’s called Warrior PDF and
it’s awesome.

With this software, you can now directly convert Word to PDF from
within the MS Word. No, you don’t have to first import to Open Office
before converting.

So in case you didn’t know… I thought I’d share this with you.

>> Warrior PDF

$4 FOR ECOVERS
==============

From time to time, I let my newsletter readers know what’s taking
place in Warrior Forum. Particularly, I think this one would
be helpful.

Dennis Grubbs (aka jjpmarketing) is running a special right now
and will create eCovers for your ebooks for $4 a pop.

I quickly bought 7 of those. So far, he is working on my first
project and I like working with him.

Take a look at this WSO and see if it’s a fit for you.

>> $4 for eCovers.

====================================
DUNTE, I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU
====================================

I also have a subscriber you might benefit from. His site is
http://www.ecoversalive.com

Dunte is an African designer who brings different touch to the
eCover and site designing.

His rate should run about $30 an eCover but if you tell him I sent
you, he’ll probably cut you a special deal.

Take a look at his portfolio and add him as one of your designer dudes.

==============================
NEED TO HIRE ARTICLES WRITERS?
==============================

Ok, my newsletter is not classified and none of these guys actually
paid me to tell you about their services, but I am feeling this might
also help you, so here it is another one. This is for ghostwriting.

A friend of mine from Malaysia is managing a team of writers from
Malaysia and if you’re in a market for inexpensive ghostwriters,
you might benefit from this service.

It’s running at $3 an article. Can you get a nice article for $3?

Well, it’s all in the eyes of the beholder and it depends on how you
use it. Personally, I don’t think price matters when it comes to
ghostwriters. I look into more of their work ethics than anyting
else.

So these guys might be able to help you with your article needs. Let
them know that I sent you.

>> Ghostwriters

=================
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK
=================

I spent a week in Vegas last week. I don’t gamble so all of my money
was spent on eating out and taking my wife and kids out.

Now I am back in Arizona and am already using AC this week… in the
middle of winter. I love the whether here and I wear Aloha shirts
all through the year – that’s my style.

Hello it’s Tak Hikichi here. I appreciate you taking busy time
reading this newsletter this week.

========================
NEW PLR DOWNLOAD LINK
========================

This week, I am providing a download link for PLR called, “List
Building for Newbies”, (Short report) produced by Adeel Chowdhry.

I uploaded this product not necessarily for the content, but for the
overall strategy that the product creator proposes.

There is something remarkable taking place here. Take a look at
his business model.

- Adeel’s Business Model -

1. He obtains a PLR that has giveaway rights.

2. Creates brand new set of graphics for the product.

3. Writes up a sales letter to include or to actually use.

4. Give it away to his list or new subscribers.

Imagine repeating this a few times a year using JV Giveaway events.
Each yielding a few hundreds subscribers when you give away…

This “one time” effort can yield residual income stream.

Well, here is the download link – this has no restriction, do what
you want with it. Be creative.

>> SUBSCRIBER ONLY LINK

===================================
USING OPEN SOURCE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
===================================

If you heard of Open Source movement, you know what I am referring
to. Things like WordPress, PDF converter by OpenOffice org etc.

I wanted to tell you about two exciting tools (no cost) for the
graphic challanged people (like me).

===============================
FLEXIBILITY THEME FOR WORDPRESS
===============================

1. One is brand new:

Flexibility Theme for WordPress

http://www.flexibilitytheme.com/

These set of new themes finally enable you customize header, footer
background images from within your WordPress Admin Panel.

I’ve never hired designer for WordPress themes, I’ve only used free
version, but free ones do have limits.

With these themes, you’ll on your way out of that.

==============
SUMO PAINT
==============

2. Sumo Paint is the second one I think you’re going to like.

Take a look at this tool – this pretty much allows you to have
Photoshop experience online.

http://www.sumo.fi/products/sumopaint/index.php?id=0

With photoshop skills, you can do very cool stuff online.

–

A. You can touch and edit a photo – like that of my daughter

My daughter (8 months old) Isn’t she cute?
(courtesy of http://greenappleimages.com/blog/)

or

B. Create a BRAND NEW PRODUCT Around It.

1. Go to Elance at http://www.elance.com

2. Tell service providers how you’ll like someone to create a
tutorial ebook or video slides on how to use SUMO paint.

3. Hire a graphic designer for your new product.

4. Sell it online, advertising your brand new product that explains
how to use Sumo Paint.

– Now you have your own product to sell, if it’s a video product,
you can rightfully charge good price.

People are always on the look out for alternatives for expensive
softwares. If you position yourself as someone who can teach
alternative “secrets” to this market, you’ll have another business
model.

==========================
MY HONEST TRUTH COMES OUT
==========================

If you’re like me, you probably feel the same way. All these tools
are great and they certainly provide alternative solutions to EXISITING
challenges.

But if you haven’t used graphic tools in the past, chances are,
just because I am introducing you to a new set of tools today, even
if they’re provided free to you, you still wouldn’t use them.

Right?

You’ll probably read about it, don’t do anything and put it off.

I think that’s totally fine.

But if you leave it undone, things will never get completed.

So if you DON’T like creating graphics (even with the help of free
tools), then start networking with those who have good reputation.

This is when I go visit Warrior Forum

By visiting Warrior Forum, you can’t help but to notice players in
each area of product creation. Some people are known as graphic
gurus, others are video guy/girl etc.

Make daily or weekly visits with them, get to know them while
growing your Skype list.

When you have a project and you don’t feel like doing any of its work,
you can outsource to the trusted source, instead of going with
someone you met through Elance.

Elance is good, but that’s my last option.

– Marketing is not always about what you know, but who you know.

=================
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK
=================

Merry Christmas to everyone and have great holiday season this year!

Thank you for reading the newsletter this week!

I was scammed lately. By merchant exploiting Paypal “loophole”.

I made a purchase online for music CDs. Paid for priority shipping (1-3 days) but no delivery after about a week.

Submitted an online ticket to the merchant and they replied overseas shipment will take about 3 weeks. Then why is there an option to choose priority shipping in the first place?

The parcel finally came a week ago. Instead of CDs which I’ve ordered, it was a pair of bra and pantie. Not to mention the embarrassment when I opened it up in front of my wife

Annoyed, I raised a dispute in Paypal.

Paypal closed the case in favour of the merchant. Reason : They will refund only if there is no shipment. They (Paypal) do not issue refund on discrepancy and/or quality of the shipped product.

So this merchant exploited Paypal’s “loophole” by sending a low-cost item for the sake of shipment proof to scam buyers like us.

Are we still safe as buyers?

Because I’m lazy and don’t want to check the rules each time before submitting an article, I set up tracking of changes to EZ’s editorial guidelines page:

ChangeDetection – Change Log: Editorial Guidelines For Submitting Quality Articles To E…

You can sign up with your email address and get notified anytime that page changes. You’ll also be able to see exactly what changed.

As you can see, the most recent change (today) will make the “useful, but incomplete” approach to article writing a bit harder

Hope that’s useful
Tom

Good job, Tom and thanks.

Today I’m going to resurrect PLR products sitting in your hard
drive.

In Internet Marketing market, keep in mind that there are two types
of people that separate the experienced and newbies.

Let’s say you’re discussing “List Building” in Warrior Forum.
You’re explaining that you use methods 1, 2, and 3 and the
experienced folks will simply “get it” while the newbies must need
to be educated on what it is you’re trying to explain.

When this happens, it distracts the experienced folks from focusing
on the most important elements of your discussion. You might be
discussing something very useful, yet the new Warriors keep on
asking you more questions and you lose control of the “flow”.

Of course such things happen. So there goes a saying “We’re not
preaching to the choir”, meaning, the choir members don’t need to
be taught how to sing – most members already know that and
therefore, let the new member learn in time.

However, the new members are just as important members of such
group and they cannot be forgotten.

So the real question is how do we overcome this, so that you can
include everyone? Or is it even impossible?

I have a solution for you.

I take PLR products (with their questions in mind) and create
reports for more specialized areas.

So let’s say if you’re writing an ebook on “Affiliate Marketing”
but you do NOT want to explain in detail about “How to register for
Clickbank”, simply you just create a separate report and link to
it. You can create one from scratch or just use PLR product for
this.

Here is an example, I was in Warrior Forum discussing the fastest
method to list building and one member kept on asking how to
register for “Giveaway” events and how to join them. Most members
browsing that topic know what they are and they don’t expect me to
explain it to them repeatedly. But some members DO need to know how
to go about joining these events.

Such flow changes the discussion from “List Building Methods” to
“Giveaway Events” thread.

What I do is, I write up a report on such topics:
http://www.asktak.com/reports/JVGiveaways.pdf

This allows me to continue on with the discussion without losing
its dynamics.

You can do the same thing for your product creation. You can write
an ebook and just link to these reports from within your PDF so
that your main report will not be 200 page long that nobody wants
to read it in such a length to get your point.

In fact, it’s better if you can build a case in a shorter report
and reference to other sources from within the PDF so that you’re
not writing the “One size fits all” report to cater to every
audience, but those who need help in specialized areas can
reference to other required resources.

There is a thread taking place in Warrior Forum now where someone copied and pasted another person’s article, claiming that’s his work. It started out as “Oh Wow, good thread”, then turned into “Hey, you stole this article!” thread.

Even if it’s your OWN article, it’s a bad etiquette to cut and paste one in forums. Forums are NOT to be used as article directories.

When it’s not your own, just like anything, you MUST give proper credit to the source. Although I have a feeling it was well intended, but many people took offense for this action by the thread creator.

Don’t be like this guy — now it’ll take a long time before he’ll rebuild reputation back, if not get banned from the forum.

I was reading about The Hawthorne Effect today and wanted to post something.

I read that…

The Hawthorne Effect is the tendency for people to act differently when they know someone is watching.

Which means, when you request for a critique, people might NOT experience or even feel about your site the same way as what they’re telling you if they were on your site.

So having said this, this is what I think.

1. If you didn’t generate the kind of response you hoped to receive from others (like people telling you to change certain things), don’t feel terribly bad because your site may be just fine.

2. If you ask for a critique and willing to test what others are telling you, it’ll be a big help if you can return to the same thread and update what happened instead of just asking for a critique and never return to report to those who took time and responded to your thread.

3. If you still insist that you‘d like others in the forum to critique your site (which is a good idea), it might be better to treat such as the FOCUS of the research instead of letting it to be THE RESEARCH for the very reason The Hawthorne Effect might play how others respond to your thread.

4. If you have specific things you‘d like other members to take a look, the response your thread generates may actually become worthwhile following. If you just do the usual, “Here is my site, URL, please let me know what you think, thanks!” it might even come across as spamming the forum. You can always ask people to refer to your signature line, too.

On the other hand, you might want to consider testing with Crazy Egg service (I love it).

http://crazyegg.com/

It gives you the “heat map” of what visitors are doing on your site and nice thing about it is they don’t even know that they’re being watched.

You can register and have a few pages tested free and it’ll give you actionable data.

Anyway, just something to think about when you request a critique within any forums you participate. Just always remember that people are taking their valuable time looking at your website.

The biggest Internet Marketing Forum Warrior Forum upgraded today. The new URL is http://www.warriorforum.com/

What does this mean?

For those who never visited Warrior Forum (WF) in the past, nothing. But for the experienced, it means more features, such as Warrior Blog, which directly links to the profile page, and the use of avatar. Now you can upload a picture if you prefer this type of introduction.

The uprising trend of user generated contents and the spread of social networking movement is changing the Internet Marketing like all other forms of communication.

Feature > Benefits > User Experience > Relationship

The old way of explaining the “features and benefits” is no longer enough to spread remarkable ideas today, but the “experience” and the “sense of belonging” to certain tribes of groups accelerate the speed to which ideas spread among the Internet Marketers.

The feel of being a “Stomper Member” or “Warrior Forum Member” are very powerful.

This new platform will strengthen the Warrior Community stronger than ever before as more as more people rely on this medium to build relationships in such a way that members never thought possible in the past.
